LDoN Raid: Takish-Hiz: Within the Compact
Recruiter: Efrelle Treiui, Northern Desert of Ro camp · Theme: Takish-Hiz · Portal: Northern Desert of Ro
What the recruiter says
Hail: Efrelle Treiui says, 'To have seen shades of my former ancestors in the broken city of Takish-Hiz has brought a darkness to my heart that I've never known. If I knew a way to restore the sand elves to their former beauty I would. For now though, there is much to learn from them. You look to be well-versed in the ways of the sand elves and Takish-Hiz. If you can rally the call of your friends perhaps you can help us with a serious [problem].'
[problem]: Efrelle Treiui says, 'Our presence in Takish-Hiz has given the aimless Jeweled Guard a purpose after so many years. Each day, more of them recall how to organize themselves in battle and they are forming armies with one purpose, to put an end to any intruder. That's us, friend. You will need your own army to put a stop to that growing force so it is safer for the rest of the us. Are you [interested]?'
[interested]: Efrelle Treiui says, 'Do what is necessary, . We cannot afford to allow the Jeweled Guard to impede our progress.'
How it plays out
- Fight west through the Compact. Zone messages guide you as you go: "A strange current of energy passes through you, cold and fast-moving. From the south comes the sound of two clear voices, blending together in a soothing melody. Ahead to the west, the sound of stamping feet and heavy chanting originates... A strange sense of urgency tugs you towards the west." Closer in: "The chanting and stamping sounds grow louder, closer, with a more feverish pitch..."
- Reach the circular room. The Quintessence of Sand stands rooted in place, with four geomancers around it: Ritana the Convoker, Thosan the Manipulator, Tweyne the Sandcaller and Unala the Avenger.
- Kill Thosan, Tweyne and Unala. Each one leaves two elemental spirits behind as it dies: "The geomancer's body falls, splitting itself in one last expense of energy." When all three are gone: "The Quintessence of Sand howls as the last of its geomancers falls, and the sand itself reaches out to drag its foes back to it!"
- Break the bond with Ritana. If Ritana is still alive when the Quintessence is badly wounded, it binds itself to her: "Sand cascades from the ceiling as the Quintessence trembles and locks its life to Ritana the Convoker... while she lives, it cannot be destroyed." Killing Ritana frees it: "With Ritana the Convoker slain, the Quintessence of Sand tears its feet free of the sand!"
- Destroy the Quintessence of Sand. "Your victory has shattered the shroud of magic cloaking the dungeon's treasure."
Reward
Two reward chests appear when the Quintessence of Sand dies. A third (Ritana's) appears only if Ritana was still alive when the Quintessence locked its life to her; killing Ritana before that point loses it.
